NCLEX Preparation

Brief Course Overview

This course is a total of 10 weeks and will cover a multitude of disease processes, which is the
foundation for students to be able to work through unfolding case studies (UCS). Unfolding case
studies, allows students to unfold acute and chronic patient clinical scenarios in real-time.
Unfolding case studies reflects how students would prioritize nursing care based on assessing
patients’ subjective and objective symptoms. Moreover, unfolding case studies prepares students
to answer questions that the NCLEX uses to test students’ critical thinking skills, especially the
new Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) that will launch on April 1 st , 2023. The use of UCS creates
a space for the instructor to provide formative feedback on understood/misunderstood concepts,
which allows instructor to clarify misconceptions in real-time.

There are 13 new types of questions that students may be tested on using NGN style questions.
